DIFC launches governance programme for women in family enterprises
On 5 October 2026, the DIFC Family Wealth Centre and Arab International Women’s Forum convened a Dubai roundtable on women-led family businesses. During the event, the centre launched the Women in Family Leadership and Governance Programme with Hawkamah and the forum.
DIFC says the programme is intended to strengthen women’s participation in family business governance and representation on family and corporate boards. Its planned approach includes specialised education, peer engagement, mentorship and practical governance insights.
Governance across generations
The announcement puts leadership development alongside succession planning and board composition, issues that can shape how family enterprises transfer responsibility between generations. This is a governance initiative, not an investment product or a funding announcement.
At the time of the announcement, DIFC reported 1,408 family business-related entities and 1,409 foundations in its ecosystem. These are DIFC figures and do not describe participation in any Epicon event.
DIFC’s announcement sets out the programme’s aims but does not specify enrolment dates or eligibility. Interested family enterprises can consult the original announcement for further updates.
